[06] Voices For Choice

Voices For Choice is an awareness campaign designed to encourage open conversations around reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. The project explores the importance of choice through a curated visual identity that suggests a speculative future without action.

The aim was to create a campaign that feels human and empowering, reminding audiences that behind every opinion is a personal story that deserves to be heard and recognised.

The project began with research into reproductive healthcare, existing awareness campaigns and statistics surrounding unsafe abortions worldwide. One piece of data that stood out was the number of deaths caused by unsafe abortions each year due to restrictions made on obtaining proper medical care, leading to the concept of using line graphs and timelines as the foundation of the campaign's visual language.

The campaign photography incorporates an 'X' motif across the mouths of the women, symbolising the suppression of female voices within conversations surrounding reproductive rights. This symbol creates a striking visual identity while reminding audiences that women deserve the right to have

a voice on what happens to their own body, and a right to choose.
